These Homemade Pumpkin Bagels are chewy, flavorful, and spiced just right for fall. Perfect for breakfast or a cozy snack.

- 4 cups bread flour
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 packet (2¼ tsp) instant yeast
- ½ cup warm water
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ginger
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and brown sugar. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add pumpkin puree, spices, salt, and flour. Mix and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled.
- Divide dough into 8 pieces, roll into balls, and shape into bagels.
- Boil each bagel for 30–45 seconds per side in lightly sugared water.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Add toppings if desired.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!
Notes
- Freeze sliced bagels in plastic wrap and reheat in toaster.
- Use canned pumpkin puree, not pie filling.
- Great with cinnamon cream cheese or maple butter.
